Building a Pawsitive Future
The Lakeland Humane Society's Building a Pawsitive Future campaign exists to raise money for a new, modern animal shelter in Cold Lake, AB.
Today in 2017, the buildings where we provide care for our animals are in great need of attention themselves. The current facilities are functioning, allowing the LHS to serve the community and animals in need; the buildings are outdated, inefficient and inadequate in size. The rapid growth of the local community has outpaced the shelter's space and capacity. Quarantine kennels and facilities are limited in function and size.
Expansion and/or replacement is urgently needed to correct the many obstacles and challenges faced daily, to meet our current and growing demand for animal care services in the Lakeland area.
The Lakeland Humane Society aims to find a home for all adoptable animals that come through our doors, and to ensure that every opportunity has been given to find them a new loving home.
The campaign seeks to raise a minimum of $2,000,000 to build a new animal shelter for the Lakeland Humane Society. Construction can not start until at least $1,000,000 has been raised. We are getting so close to that $1,000,000 mark to get the project going.
You can donate to the campaign online, in person, or by mailing a cheque or money order to the Lakeland Humane Society.
The Dawgs & Divas Winter Gala is the Lakeland Humane Society's annual fundraiser, supporting this capital campaign. You can support the animals by attending or sponsoring this event.
Dawgs & Divas VI: Pawprints in the Snow took place on February 11, 2017.
